Salat Timings & Events is a universal iOS reference app for Muslims who need prayer times, Qibla direction, the Hijri calendar, and local Islamic event listings in one place. It uses CoreLocation and MapKit to orient the user and calculate times relative to their selected city and timezone.

Technical Architecture

Salat Timings & Events is a single-tier universal iOS app written in Objective-C with UIKit, MapKit, and CoreLocation. Prayer-time math is implemented locally, and city/timezone data is persisted with an embedded SQLite database. The app targets iOS 4.3+ and supports both portrait and landscape orientations on iPhone and iPad.
