Seven Laugh is a joke-browsing and social-sharing application family for iPhone and BlackBerry users, distinct from the SevenYes quotation product. Its clients package categorized jokes for offline use, support SMS and social sharing, and use a separate ASP.NET service for user registration and login.

Purpose: The native SevenLaugh iPhone client provides offline categorized-joke browsing, account registration/login, and SMS or Twitter sharing.

Web Service Backend

Purpose: The ASP.NET ASMX service handles SevenLaugh account registration and login, persists users and app associations in MySQL, hashes passwords, and sends activation email.

  • ASMX login API with application identifiers
  • MySQL-backed user and user-application persistence
  • MD5 password hashing and input validation
  • Activation-key generation and SMTP activation email
